Art Hoyle, Trumpet
Art HoyleArt Hoyle received his first trumpet on his eighth birthday in rural Oklahoma.  He began playing in clubs and ballrooms at the age of 15 in Gary, Indiana.  After a four-year stint in the U.S. Airforce Bands, Art joined the Sun Ra Arkestra in 1956.  From 1957-1960 he toured the United States, Canada, Europe and North America with the Lionel Hampton Orchestra, then joined the CBS Staff Orchestra where he worked from 1962-1964.

Mr. Hoyle’s studio work has included work as both voice-over talent and as a musician on TV, Radio Commercials and Movie Soundtracks.  He has been a featured soloist with Sarah Vaughn, Ella Fitzgerald, Tony Bennett, Lena Horne, Peggy Lee, Quincy Jones, Henry Mancini, Louie Bellson, Oliver Nelson, Joe Williams, Nelson Riddle, Gene Ammons, Lee
