Both on and beyond the Columbia College Chicago campus, the
Chicago Jazz Ensemble demonstrates its ongoing commitment to music education in
general and jazz studies in particular. Many of the Ensemble musicians are experienced teaching artists who, in
the great jazz tradition, are committed to both performance and education.
Our programs focus on three communities, which converge and diverge in ways that reflect the breadth of jazz as a source of participatory learning. For more information on engaging the CJE for any of its education programs, please contact Darius Hampton.
